KFC Launch New Vegan 'Chicken' Burger

1 min read

Note: addition, not a replacement.

KFC has officially entered the meat substitute game with a 'crispy chicken' faker called The Imposter.

Entering the UK for just four weeks, the burger uses a Quorn fillet and vegan mayo and is lauded by KFC as a "triumph of deception".

The burger already has a thumbs up from PETA too:

Euromonitor International via CNN Business report the meat substitute industry as one to watch, earning $18.7 billion in 2018 and forecast to hit $23 billion in 2023.

It's no wonder other brands are jumping on the bandwagon; IKEA has launched vegan meatballs, Ben & Jerry's have non-dairy flavours and even Maccas are trialling the McVegan in select countries.
