Meryl Streep tells it like it is

Meryl Streep became the Queen of the Golden Globes today after she criticised US President-elect Donald Trump in her speech. The three-time Oscar-winning actress said his actions legitimised bullying.

“This instinct to humiliate when it’s modelled by someone in the public platform by someone powerful, it filters down into everybody’s life. Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence incites violence.”

Meryl’s final words came from the late Carrie Fisher saying:

“As my friend, the dear departed Princess Leia, said to me once: Take your broken heart, make it into art.”

Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield kiss

While Ryan Gosling walked up on the stage to accept his Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy there was a sneak little kiss in the background. Ryan Reynolds shared a passionate kiss with tablemate Andrew Garfield. Alas the kiss was only brief, but Ryan’s wife Blake Lively broke out into laughter.

Dev Patel melts everyone’s heart

Dev Patel, star of Lion, brought his little co-star Sunny Pawar out on stage and everyone’s hearts melted. Check out the adorable moment…

Emma Stone’s super awkward hug attempt

It’s okay Emma. We’ve all been there. Just before La La Land’s Damien Chazelle hit the stage to accept his award for Best Screenplay, Emma Stone hit him with an extremely awkward hug.
