A Whole Bunch Of New Indigenous Emojis Are Headed Our Way

1 min read

Getting ready folks, 'cause we're about to score a new suite of Indigenous emojis AKA Indigemoji for both Android and iOS.

The emojis, designed by Indigenous creatives Ingeous Studios, have yet to receive an official release date but have been shared as a sneak peek of what's to come.

"Not long to wait! Really proud that we could be involved with app development for Android and iOS and the development of #Indigemoji keyboards for both platforms," Ingeous Studios wrote on their Facebook Page.

"Soon you will be pushing out Australia’s first set of Indigenous emojis, made by young people on Arrernte country in Mparntwe/Alice Springs and complete #Indigenous app development."

Emojis appear to include a hand, crown, flag and heart in the colours of the Aboriginal flag as well as native animals, a billy can and boomerang.
