Landslide causes major traffic delays in Melbourne

1 min read

Even hours later traffic is moving very slowly.

A major cleanup continues in Templestowe, after a a landslide caused massive delays for traffic in the area.

A burst water main at Fitzsimmons Lane last night is said to be the reason for the dirt and debris making its way onto the road, halting peak hour traffic and requiring emergency services to start clean up efforts.

The left-hand lane of Fitzsimmons Lane (pictured above) will remain closed, and traffic will be very slow through the area surrounding, with clean up efforts continuing and traffic management overseeing the situation.

VicRoads has warned motorists to avoid the area if they can, or to proceed with extreme caution if it's unavoidable.
