Aussie F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo blows up after race fail

Best keep plaster walls and F1 cars away from him for a little bit.

The United States Grand Prix Formula One race took place last weekend, and unfortunately it meant another miserable weekend for Aussie F1 gun Daniel Ricciardo.

After lining up fourth at the start and looking like he could challenge for a spot on the podium, Riccardo's car suddenly stopped on just lap 9 due to a mechanical failure.

While Ricciardo's known for being a top bloke with a happy-go-lucky demeanor, he couldn't hold back his frustration at yet another early finish and put "his fist through the wall" after making it back to his motorhome room according to his Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner (via Autosport).

Horner had nothing but sympathy for his driver, saying:

“It was a crying shame for Daniel and I feel so sorry for him.

“It looks like the identical power issue from Bahrain. He was driving a strong race, it’s so frustrating for him. I hope no more penalties, we should have enough components for him not to.”

Riccardo's frustration is understandable as his early exit from the United States Grand Prix was his fifth premature finish in the last 10 races and his seventh in total for the year, an unfortunate fact that no amount of shoeys can bandaid over.

The Aussie F1 star's fracas with his motorhome wall comes after another display of frustration in the immediate moments following his retirement from the race.

After climbing out of his stricken Red Bull, Riccardo was so annoyed that he flipped the bird at his car.

With Ricciardo set to leave Red Bull Racing at the end of the 2018 season to join Renault, hopefully his fortunes will improve next year.

In the meantime, best keep plaster walls and F1 cars from the guy for a few days.
