Mark Ronson Turned Nova's Red Room Into An Absolute Sweatbox
So. Damn. Good.
Mark Ronson is one of THE biggest names in the music biz.
He's the man behind the bangers of the world's biggest artists like Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Amy Winehouse, Bruno Marks and so many more.
Plus, the British-American producer co-wrote Shallow for A Star Is Born, just casually.
The Grammy and Oscar-winning musician graced us with his presence for Nova’s Red Room at Sydney’s Marquee, performing behind a giant disco ball shaped like a broken heart.
We danced, we cried - and yes at the same time - through his entire set.
While the megastar producer didn’t teleport in Miley or Camila Cabello for the performance, we were treated to a night full of absolute bangers that had the d-floor slick with sweat within minutes of his opening song, Nothing Breaks Like A Heart.
He treated us to tracks from his recently-released album, Late Night Feelings; a pop-fuelled collection of sad bangers that's bursting with female co-writers and vocalists. King Princess, Alicia Keys, Lykke Li and Angel Olsen number among the women who grace the record.
It wasn't all sad bangers - he threw out classics from every conceivable genre, from hip hop to jazz to downright dirty trap. We grooved to it all; Adele's Rolling In The Deep, Ms. Jackson and Work It, syncing our hearts along with thudding bass from speakers he spun around to face the crowd.
Our hearts broke to Amy Winehouse's Valerie, and were stuck back together again by Uptown Funk. The perfect evening.
