Renowned sports reporter Mel McLaughlin and Network Ten have parted ways after being snapped up for the opportunity of a lifetime with Channel Seven

It seems all publicity is good publicity…

Not long ago, Mel McLaughlin became a household name, after her run-in with cricket player Chris Gayle, after he awkwardly hit on her on live TV.

Lost for words, Gayle advised McLaughlin, “don’t blush baby”.

So yeah, we all know well and truly what happened there.

McLaughlin is making headlines AGAIN today, but for career advancement purposes.

It’s believed 36-year-old, McLaughlin has managed to snag a brand new TV role with rival network Seven – she will be on the ground reporting for the fast approaching Rio Olympics.

A Ten spokesperson commented saying, “Mel has done a great job at Network Ten and we wish her the best for the future.”

The 2016 Rio Olympic Games starts on Friday, 5 August 2016.
