Sophie Turner Finally Shared How She Wanted Game Of Thrones To End
Yes, this article will contain spoilers. So if you’re part of the 1 per cent of the population who isn’t up to date with all things Game of Thrones, kindly check out now.
And it seems we’re not the only ones who hoped for something different.
Sophie Turner, who played Sansa Stark on the show, voiced her thoughts on an alternative ending in an interview with TheWrap. She offered some suggestions on how she would’ve ended the show if she had it her way and we are here for them all.
In the interview Sophie said she wishes her character Sansa had another encounter with Queen Cersei before the series finale.
“I thought Arya would kill Cersei. And I would like to have seen Sansa and Cersei reunited, or Arya and Cersei,” she said. “But there were so many ways the story could have turned out.”
Despite her ideas and other suggestions, Sophie said she was ultimately satisfied with the way the show wrapped.
“I felt very passionately about the ending for Sansa, and I was very happy with the ending that turned out for her.”
Sophie said she also got “a little defensive” over fans claims that “there was no effort, that the writers were terrible” in season eight, because “the most effort was put into this final season.”
She also thinks the new king is a fitting choice.
“Daeneyrs had to die. Cersei was a mad queen. Arya is too much of a free spirit. Sansa probably wouldn’t want to rule the seven kingdoms anyway – she wanted to stay in the North and defend the North. I really think Bran might be the perfect person for the job,” she said.
So there you have it folks - from the mouth of the Queen of the North herself. Someone give her a writers role please and re-do the whole show k thanks.
