Game Of Thrones fans are QUAKING right now - the final season of GOT is about to air, and a prequel has been confirmed. It's a LOT.

Now a suitably dazzling all-star cast has been confirmed for the prequel, which takes place several thousand years before Daenerys and her dragons took Westeros by (fiery) storm.

HBO previously announced Aussie acting royalty Naomi Watts has signed on, alongside British actor/Burberry model Josh Whitehouse, tipped as the series' lead (we're not complaining):

Now they've confirmed the casting of Jamie Campbell Bower and Toby Regbo - already an iconic duo thanks to their roles as young Grindelwald and young Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Ancient Westeros will also feature Georgie Henley, aka Lucy from the Chronicles of Narnia series, Black Mirror actor Ivanno Jeremiah, and Naomi Ackie, who was just cast in the new Star Wars film.

Sheila Atim (Harlots), Denise Gough (Colette), and Alex Sharp (To the Bone) were also confirmed in the announcement.

The prequel, which begins shooting early this year, had some plot points teased in a statement from HBO:

“The series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.

“And only one thing is for sure: From the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.”

The prequel is being written by Jane Goldman and GOT author George R. R. Martin, and is set to air in 2020.

In the meantime, start organising your viewing parties - the final season of Game Of Thrones premieres in April.
