Prepare Spare Undies: You Season 2 Will Scare The Crap Out Of You
We’re about to see a whole other side to Joe.
It seems like forever ago that we binged watched You and triple checked our privacy settings on all social media platforms.
But Season Two is just around the corner and we can expect it to be even darker than Season One.
Lead character Joe Goldberg (Penn Badly) has decided he's done with the East Coast (that or you know, on the run) and is heading over to the sunny West Coast.
Speaking to Us Weekly, showrunner Sera Gamble said:
"I would say that Season Two of You, kind of, doubles down on some of the stuff that you might come to expect.
"Moving the show to Los Angeles brought out a whole different side of Joe Goldberg."
Season Two will follow the 2016 sequel to Caroline Kepnes’ book You, entitled Hidden Bodies. But even if you've read the book we can safely expect some surprises after seeing the first season.
In June, Penn revealed to Entertainment Tonight that some scenes were so disturbing that he felt sick.
"There are some things I've done with prosthetic bodies in this [new] season that were kind of nauseating as I did them, I will say that."
He also gave a sneak-peek into the new lead character, Love Quinn played by Victoria Pedretti:
"I’m really excited for people to get to know Love.
"She adds a dimension that hasn’t existed yet. There's a side to Joe that we haven’t seen yet because her character, in some ways, is the polar opposite of Beck.
"Joe was always trying to get Beck’s attention, sort of almost against her own instincts and will, whereas Joe is trying to be better. And Love won’t let him say ‘no’ to her, even though he’s trying desperately."
DUN DUN DUN.
