Marvel Just Confirmed All Of The Movies In MCU Phase 4 And You’ll Need To Sit Down

4 min read

!!!!!!!!!

The era of The Avengers might officially be over but that doesn’t mean it’s the end for Marvel.

Far from it.

There’s been lots of speculation about what Marvel Studios has in store for MCU Phase Four (i.e. their next era of superheroes and movies), including talks of Doctor Strange Two and launching completely new franchises like The Eternals.

Well, the latter (and a whole bunch more) just got confirmed for 2020-2021 release and !!!!!!!!!!!!!

1.  The Eternals

Marvel announced the news at San Diego Comic-Con and shared casting details on their Instagram.

“Just announced in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios’ THE ETERNALS with Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, and Don Lee. Directed by Chloé Zhao. In theaters November 6, 2020,” they captioned the post.

Some HUGE names in there!

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige described the tone of Eternals as being "full Jack Kirby", referring to the iconic comic book artist’s unique and colorful style.

It already sounds so cool!

Kevin went on to describe the characters as ""a group of immortals who have been on earth for 35000 years, but we haven't met them before."

2. The Falcon And The Winter Soldier

This one will be a Disney+ series and, judging by the title, we’re already here for it.

It sounds a lot like a post-Steve Rogers Captain America movie about The Falcon and Bucky’s relationship.

Or maybe they won’t be friends? Who the hell knows, but at this stage we don’t care because our excitement level is at 3,000.

3. Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings

Like The Eternals, is a completely new franchise for Marvel.

Shang-Chi is one of Marvel’s original comic book characters and is often referred to as the "Master of Kung Fu”. He is proficient in numerous unarmed and weaponry-based Chinese martial arts and has the power to create countless duplicates of himself.

He also becomes (eventually) a member of the Avengers.

The movie will find Shang-Chi facing off against the Ten Rings organisation previously seen in the original Iron Man.

4. WandaVision

Not a movie but a TELEVISION SERIES.

Scarlet Witch and Vision will be reunited in a post Avengers: Endgame world. It’s not clear how Vision — who was killed in Infinity War — will be revived, but we're sure Marvel will find a way.

This one will stream exclusively on Disney+ service.

5. Loki

Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as Loki for another Disney+ exclusive.

According to the panel at Comic-Con, the series will tell us what happened to Loki after he altered his own fate when he acquired the Tesseract during the Avengers’ botched “time heist” and teleported himself to safety.

6. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

It looks like that Doctor Strange sequel everyone has been speculating about is finally happening.

But, according to the panel, it’s not going to be the same Doctor Strange we all know and love.

“We are going to make the first scary MCU film,” said Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will take place several years after the events of both Endgame and Spider-Man: Far from Home.

That’s all we know.

7. What If…?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to get a bit weirder in 2021 with the lunch of their first animated television series.

What If…? will be an adaptation of the comics of the same name.

The stories spin out what-if scenarios about Marvel heroes and villains that can take some strange twists and turns.

Weird? Yes.

Epic? YES.

8. Hawkeye

On top of the previously Loki, WandaVision, Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Marvel Studios is bringing back another OG Avenger in their own series: Hawkeye

“I get to teach someone else how to be a superhero without superpowers,” Jeremy Renner joked on the Comic-Con panel.

Jeremy emphasised the message of the series: anyone can be a hero.

9. Thor Love And Thunder

Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman and director Taika Waititi all return for this one which means one thing: IT’S GONNA BE EPIC.

10. Black Widow

So you know the Black Widow origin story movie that everyone was talking about and thought was gonna happen but then we weren’t sure if it was gonna happen? Well it’s happening.

Alongside ScarJo stars Stranger Things legend David Harbour and more.

11. Blade

Mahershala Ali (from Oscar Award winning film Green Book) is joining the Marvel Studios in a remake of 1998 franchise Blade

In short: it’s gonna be the best two years of our lives.
