Lindsay Lohan’s Reality Show Just Got Cancelled By MTV
Lindsay Lohan has had a really rough week.
The star’s reality show, Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, bombed so hard in its first season that MTV have decided to pull the plug on a second.
Lindsay’s Mykonos nightclub - the setting for the show, which follows the club staff’s daily lives - has also closed its doors.
The MTV show premiered in January to a semi-decent viewership which quickly plummeted over the 12-episode season.
Reviews were harsh, with The Hollywood Reporter calling it “vapid and tedious” and garnering a 27% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Her nightclub in Greece began operating in May 2018.
A source close to the production spoke exclusively to Page Six, revealing:
“There was a renewal idea that producers hoped would perk it up for a second season. It would be turned into a show about Lindsay and [her mother] Dina and [sister] Ali, [but] that wasn’t going to happen.”
The source added that the show didn’t have “enough drama.”
According to Page Six, the source explained that “They wanted ‘breakdowns” and Lindsay just isn’t about that kind of drama these days.
“That’s not where [Lohan] is at with her life anymore. Their personal business doesn’t need to be aired on television; it’s already in the papers anyway.”
And while many celebs don’t mind airing their dirty laundry for our viewing amusement, we totally get it LiLo.
