Kaitlynn Carter Has Finally Spoken About Her "Affair" With Miley Cyrus
"It had never crossed my mind that I was even capable of loving a woman the way I loved her."
Miley Cyrus has had a whirlwind year when it comes to love.
And while Miley is stealing the social media spotlight with her current bBeau, Cody Simpson, little thought is being spared about her exes.
We know Liam is living his best life swinging off lamp posts, but what is Kaitylnn Carter up to?
For those not in the know,Her and Miley and Kaitlynn had an intense and brief relationship in July, which ended almost as fast as it started.
And now, Kaitylnn has finally decided to share her side of the story in a candid essay for Elle.
“This past July, I went on vacation with a female friend; the next thing I knew, I was in love with her,” Kaitlynn began.
“Until that trip, it had never crossed my mind that I was even capable of loving a woman the way I loved her. But after reflecting on my romantic history, I realised that I’ve never really had a ‘type.’”
Kaitlynn is, of course, referring to the holiday she her and Miley took to Italy in August. Both ladies had just split from long term partners - Miley from Liam Hemsworth and Kaitlynn from Brody Jenner - and were lapping up their newfound freedom in the European sun.

“As my friend and I spent that August traveling through Europe together and trying to move past our respective break-ups, my first and only romance with a woman was born,” she wrote.
“It just happened and it felt exactly right. Reflecting back on our three-year friendship, I realised I’d always been drawn to her in a way I wasn’t with other friends, but until that trip it had never crossed my mind to think of her in a romantic sense.”
Kaitlynn clarified that her relationship with Miley, which ended in September, wasn’t just a “summer fling” or a “same-sex affair.”
“While it was short-lived, I’ll remain eternally grateful to my most recent relationship for opening my eyes to this unexplored part of myself,” she wrote.
Carter ultimately concluded that she doesn’t feel like she’s “in a place to label [her] sexuality one way or another.”
