"I'm the worst dieter"

Much loved Gogglebox star Yvie Jones has revealed to magazine TV Week that she underwent a gastric sleeve surgery in 2017.

Speaking to the publication, the 46-year-old - who is about to appear on I'm A Celeb with bestie and former co-star Angie - explained her reasons for undergoing the procedure.

"I'm the worst dieter," she told the publication.

"I can't stand restricting myself."

Yvie, who left Gogglebox in October last year, also told the publication that her procedure - which sees her stomach reduced in size - has meant she was exempt from of the food from the series on medical grounds.

According to Health Direct, gastric sleeve surgery reduces the capacity of the stomach to approximately a tenth of what it could hold previously causing participants to feel full after much smaller meals.

"You will need to make significant lifestyle changes after bariatric surgery to lose weight and keep it off," the website explains.

"For example, you'll get nutritional advice from a dietitian on how to change your eating habits to keep healthy while losing weight. Your meals will be much smaller than before. And you'll probably take vitamins or other supplements for life."

Yvie and Angie were the first confirmed contestants for the new season of I'm A Celeb but by the looks of things, this could be just the beginning:

"We told Foxtel we were leaving [Gogglebox] in October and flew to Bali a week later," Yvie told TV Week.

"On the second day there, we got the phone call from [Network] 10. We were so excited!

"It's going to look like we left Gogglebox to go into the jungle, but it's important our fans know we left before we got this opportunity."

That is of course, unless "karma" comes to bit Yvie in the "bum" as she jokingly told news.com.au.

"I have laughed at these people for so long and judged them and gone, 'oh that's easy' and now it's all coming around on me."

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here returns Sunday night (Jan 13) at 7:30pm.
