Everything You Need To Know About Disney's New Streaming Service
OMG OMG OMG!
It feels like years that we've been hearing about a streaming service from Disney and the company has finally released more details today!
Disney+ will be your place to get everything owned by Disney including Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar and National Geographic content. It will also house several original shows which will only be available to stream on the service.
Disney tweeted today, "It all starts on November 12," also adding the hashtag, "#DisneyPlus,".
Robert Iger, chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, shared the first look at Disney+, and it looks pretty similar to most other streaming services. We half expected everything to be shaped like Mickey Mouse…
Disney also announced all 30 seasons of The Simpsons will be available exclusively on Disney+ with a short clip of the fam:
Other 20th Century Fox acquisitions like Malcolm In The Middle, The Sound Of Music and The Princess Bride will also be available.
What is important to note, however, is that the service will likely not be available in Australia from the launch date of November 12. At this point much of the Disney library lives on Stan and it's unclear how long their agreement lasts.
Disney has promised that the service will be available in "major" regions over the next two years so perhaps we'll get our taste of it in 2021.
The company revealed Disney+ will start at $6.99 a month, but, again, we're unsure how much it will cost in Australia.
