Everyone Missed Varys Trying To Poison An Important Game Of Thrones Character
Did you notice?
*SPOILER ALERT* (obviously).
The latest episode of Game of Thrones featured some pretty big deaths.
The first person to be killed off was Varys, who served as a kind of informant to Daenerys’.
Varys was killed for betraying Dany. Basically, he wrote a bunch of letters informing people (we don't know who) that Jon Snow is the one true heir to the Iron Throne.
Dany = not happy.
But his betrayal goes deeper than we may have initially realised. There’s a MAJOR detail in the episodes opening scene that you may have missed.
Here’s the dialogue:
Girl: “She won’t eat.”
Varys: “We’ll try again at supper.”
Girl: “I think they’re watching me.”
Girl: “Her soldiers.”
Varys: “Of course they are. That’s their job. What have I told you, Martha?”
Girl: “The bigger the risk, the bigger the reward.”
Varys: “Go on. They’ll be missing you in the kitchen.”
With that^ we have a question for you: why the hell was Varys so interested in Dany’s eating habits?
Answer: he’s not. He’s interested in killing her. Varys was totally trying to get Martha, who works in the kitchen, to poison Daenerys’ food.
Fans have since taken to Twitter to express their thoughts about the scene:
There’s only one episode left, so we’ve got to be on our a-game people. No sleeping, blinking, don’t even breathe. EVERY detail is an important detail.
