"...it wasn’t going to be as perfect as it should have been."

Game of Thrones prequels have become like Katy Perry's song, Hot N Cold.

Rumours start about them, filming begins then HBO passes on airing them. Then they move on to someone younger and better (ie, their perfect prequel - House of the Dragon).

But what is happening to the one Naomi Watts is starring in? Well unfortunately we don't know and neither does Emilia Clarke who played Daenerys Targaryen in the Game of Thrones series.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of her new holiday rom-com, Last Christmas, Emilia was asked whether she had heard any of the industry gossip.

"I’m not really too sure [what happened]."

"It’s difficult to get stuff made. I wonder. Maybe it’ll be reincarnated at some point, but if it wasn’t meant to happen now, then I’m sure it’s because they know that it wasn’t going to be as perfect as it should have been."

Variety reported just yesterday that HBO passed on the prequel series that was set thousands of years before the OG GoT.

Then within a matter of hours, HBO programming chief Casey Bloys announced that another prequel spinoff series entitled House of the Dragon is receiving a straight-to-series order for 10 episodes from HBO.

The new series will focus on House Targaryen, set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones.
