BREAKING: 16 arrested over Kim Kardashian robbery in Paris
French authorities are still trying to uncover who was behind the horrific October robbery
In the last few hours, French police have arrested 16 people who they believe to be connected to the horrific October robbery of Kim Kardashian.
According to several French reports, the suspects - who are indeed still suspects at this time, and haven't been officially charged for anything - are currently being held for questioning.
Kim Kardashian has only recently made a public reappearance in the wake of the robbery. Last week, she broke the internet with her first three Instagram posts since the events in her Paris hotel room. On Friday, E! released the first Keeping Up with the Kardashian footage in months, seeming to confirm that the show will be returning to television after months of speculation that it was done for good.
In October, Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room while the armed robbers stole an estimated $11 million worth of her jewellery, allegedly including an "upgraded" 20-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring that was her engagement ring from Kanye West.
Kanye proposed in 2013 with a 15-carat diamond ring, and since upgraded to the 20-carat diamond.
If the recently released Keeping Up with the Kardashians footage is anything to go by, Kim is still understandably shaken from the October events. In the clip she appears bare-faced and visibly distraught, saying:
"They're going to shoot me in the back. There's no escape.
"It makes me so upset to think about it."
French authorities finally seem to be getting closer to discovering who was behind the attack. The fact that 16 people have been arrested points to a wide range of suspicions, and suggests that a large group of people were behind the attack.
