Abbie Slams Slut-Shamers After Bachelor Pash

"I wasn't coping."

Bachie contestant Abbie Chatfield has opened up about the stress and “slut-shaming” she’s experienced since the recent backlash over her steamy pash session with Bachie Matt Agnew and tbh, we totally understand.

The Queensland native voiced her frustrations about the reaction - both inside the mansion and on social media - and spoke to Mamamia about the public’s response.

"There have been other comments I've seen on my Instagram and Facebook saying, 'Is she really that easy?' [and] slut-shaming," she told the publication.

"We live in a society that begs women to be sexual objects in a very specific way and then shames us when we try to do it ourselves."

The 23-year-old property analyst shocked viewers and fellow contestants when she decided to kiss Matt (in seeing and hearing distance from the girls) after previously saying to her co-stars she wouldn’t go there, telling Mamamia

"I have a right to share a consensual kiss with a man I'm attracted to, to own my own sexuality and be confident and happy in myself."

These comments come after Abbie told TV Week that the drama left her majorly anxious, telling the mag:

"I wasn't coping,"

"I had to call the psychologist, and the minders were a bit worried. I didn't eat for three days. I just slept and cried. I really wasn't well."

The drama-train isn’t stopping for Abbie as last night’s episode saw Abbie and Monique in a major tiff over derogatory comments Monique made about Matt

A mansion divided? We think so too.
