You know those white spots you get near your eyes? Like little lumps? Here’s what they are and why you get them…

So those white lumpy spots you get near your eyes, known as “milk spots” aren’t pimples.

They are called Milia, and they can affect anyone at any age - babies through to adults.

Milia is a type of skin cyst which is filled with a protein called keratin, and it manifests as a white lump on your skin.

You can most commonly develop them around your eyes, nose and mouth, and as an adult, they can be quite hard to get rid of.

So why do we get them in the first place?

Well, there are two reasons:

1. Because some people’s sweat glands might not be developed properly - so in this case particularly, it can happen to babies.

2. They can also form if the skin has been damaged from sun exposure, burns, blistering or sometimes the use of steroid creams.

Thanks to Damn.com, we’ve found some great remedies to try and shift them:

Put it on your face for 20-30 minutes
