How often do you REALLY need to shower?
Showering is just a part of our daily routine … But how often are we ACTUALLY suppose to shower?
Science facts just in! - A startling revelation…
Showering is just part of our daily ritual right?
Some of us LOVE showering… Some of us shower for too long, or even twice a day...
Some of us DESPISE showering. They find it a disrupting chore.
Dermatologists are now saying, however, that most people shower way more than necessary.
Dr Joshua Zeichner, an assistant professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC, says our showering frequency, and what we perceive as "body odour" is "really more of a cultural phenomenon."
Boston dermatologist Dr Ranella Hirsch says we over bathe…
"A lot of the reason we do it is because of societal norms."
Apparently frequent showering can actually do more harm than good, as it can dry out and irritate the skin, washing away the good bacteria that naturally exists on your skin.
It can also introduce small cracks that put you at higher risk of infection.
Here's the next ground breaking, hard-to-deal-with fact…
You should probably start skipping the daily shower, and take one every two to three days.
If that grosses you out, dermatologists suggest cleaning the yuckier-smelling parts of your body with a soapy washcloth or cleansing wipe.
Mind = blown.
Will YOU start showering every two to three days? Or keep going with the daily shower system?
