Melbourne gets rudely awakened by 'Mystery Horn'

Did you hear it?

Melbourne's alarm clock went off earliy this morning, waking up locals on each side of the bay, with many of them cracking it on social media for the early morning wake up call.

Reportedly the alarm sounded for over half and hour from about 5:15am, and people from as far away as Hampton and, over to the West, Spotswood and Newport heard it.

Grant McArthur, the health editor for the Herald Sun tweeted 'What the hell is going on with that ship horn - has the rest of Melbourne been woken up as well?'

Victoria Police said the horn was an emergency horn from a ship that is yet to be (publicly) identified - here's hoping it doesn't go off tomorrow morning!
