Friends star Matt LeBlanc is going to be the next Top Gear presenter
Possibly the last person we’d have expected to host Top Gear - Joey Tribbiani … Ah, we mean - Matt LeBlanc - will be completing the line up, joining Chris Evans when the world’s favourite motor show returns in May.
LeBlanc will be the first ever non-British host in its 39-year history, News.com.au says.
“Matt’s a lifelong fellow petrolhead and I’m thrilled he’s joining Top Gear,” Evans said. “Acting out our craziest car notions on screen is a dream job and I know we’ll both be debating some epic road trip ideas. We can’t wait to share what we’ve been up to on screen later this year,” The BBC said in a statement.
And how does Matt feel about the new gig?
“As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I’m honoured and excited to be a part of this iconic show’s new chapter. What a thrill!”
The BBC’s acting controller for the entertainment commissioning labelled LeBlanc as “a class act and a brilliant signing for Top Gear”.
Top Gear had a tumultuous year in 2015, with the dramatic exit of Jeremy Clarkson, after one to many controversies.
Wonder what LeBlanc’s going to bring to the table, ey guys??
